selling our greenhouse plants
a little candle holder with amber beads I found at the market, at the stall of the lady next to us, for two dollars.. the amber beads promised to look very pretty when all lit up by a candle, and it did not disappoint!
Irene's sisters Gail and Frances and sister-in-law Tina are visiting from North Carolina. They came to the flea market this morning just as we were getting ready to pack up, but they found a few things, and then Mark showed them where the Walmart was. I went on from there and dropped all of our plants off at our house, then did a two hour postal route, and came home and dropped to sleep, before I went and helped them plant a few plants at Irene's house that they wanted - and then I came back home to make dinner (bacon fried rice, it's great!) and head off to sleep for another postal route tomorrow...
Bacon fried rice
two to three pieces of pre-cooked, cold bacon, finely chopped
2 tablespoons olive oil
handful of chopped green onions (I used frozen)
handful or two of chopped red peppers
chopped onions
handful of frozen peas
bit of frozen kale
lots of porkchop seasoning
1.5 cups of pre-cooked rice, set in refrigerator for about one day
2 eggs
some water
heat the oil, add the bacon and the green onions, slowly add the frozen veggies and 1/4 to 1/3 cup of water (or more) and the porkchop seasoning, heat to very hot and sizzling, add 1/2 cup more or so of water and pre-cooked rice, more seasoning if wished, turn down heat and put cover on, and heat until rice and vegetable/bacon mixture is well combined and heated through and starting to sizzle just gently, make a well in the middle, add eggs, wait until the whites begin to cook, and then draw the eggs throughout the entire mixture, make sure eggs are cooking in mixture, then put on cover and remove from heat, let sit for a minute or so then serve
