general children clothes complaints

Esme has officially outgrown the few size 2T shirts that I had bought her last year... and right now she is only 2 years and 3 months. But, in writing that... why did I have to move up to size 2T shirts last year.. when she is just now barely 2 years? *sigh*

The sizes never 'match' the age for toddler's clothing. This is just one of the general complaints I have about storebought clothing, besides the price and quality issues. Storebought pants and jeans never stay up over her rear end.. they ride down whenever she runs, which is most of the time. The necklines are never large enough for her head, unless I buy several sizes up, then she swims in the rest of it leg and arm wise. These are reasons I try to make a lot of her clothes now. I can't imagine what we're going to do when she gets school-age and it isn't 'fashionable' for mom to make her clothes anymore. Maybe her proportions will work out before then.

Same with Emily. All the recent stuff you have sent still fits her, but the rest of her clothes are a disaster - 4T tops for us just now as well! Why don't even the 3T tops still fit?

I will say, though, that Em and Esme seem to be longer than most kids their age.

Piper's the same way. She's big for her age, and although we have a couple of 2T shirts that still fit, most of her shirts are now 3T or 4T. Sadly her waist is still pretty small and we have to get adjustable pants. 2T's are too big around the waist, but way too short in the legs.

It definitely depends on the brand of clothing - circo is awful - they are super wide and short, and his head rarely fits through the neck hole of stuff that is seemingly the right size. He's got a few pants that are the right length, but they sag because he's kinda thin (20th percentile, but he's 75th for height). Carters works for him - have had good luck (usually) with those so far. Children's Place stuff seems to run a bit skinny also. Sometimes they have good sales, too.
