He had a long life, that little dog.

I've received word from my mom, in Minnesota, that our little 'old man' has passed away. He was my first puppy. My mom got him from a friend of my aunt, when I was 8 years old, just after my parents had divorced. He was sometimes smart, but always happy to be there, by your side or in your lap. I know it was hard on my mom to keep him alive these past three months, as he was blind and very thin. But I think he deserved it, as he was still happy and not in pain. The two other dogs of the house cuddled near him and tried to comfort him. My mom said he passed away quietly in his sleep during the early hours of the morning.

I miss you old man. You always knew my voice.

I'm going to go hug my girls.

I'm glad he went peacefully in his sleep. My sympathy to you and your mom.

May the little guy rest in peace. It sounds like he was quite comfortable in his last days.

Thanks for stopping by my blog the other day, come by any time!

P.S. Your kitties are beauties.

I am so sorry about your loss. Pets mean so much to us and the loss of one is never easy! I hope hugging your kitties gave you at least a little peace.

Thank you everyone, for your kind words and thoughts. And yes, hugging my kittens made me feel better -- they need me to take care of them, too.
